Frequently Asked Questions
There is a lack of consistency across the world regarding the ‘correct’ terminology. By telehealth we mean the process of delivering health care across a distance using information communications technology. This includes a range of modalities including videoconferencing, telephone, mobile health technology (e.g. apps, texts), email and remote patient monitoring (e.g. wearable devices, digital glucometers). Our lessons cover all telehealth modalities.
The course developers come from a range of clinical backgrounds (e.g. nursing, psychology, radiology, dietetics, speech pathology, pharmacology) and have worked in health services research, specifically telehealth, for decades. We have ongoing collaborations with a range of health professionals and health services and our knowledge is steeped in the latest telehealth research findings. This comprehensive way of working ensures that the TTP content is based on the latest evidence-based, but practical, approaches to telehealth. Our practical expertise means that we also draw upon and showcase real examples to consolidate your learning.
Developed by clinician researchers and health service researchers, we understand the complexities of delivering healthcare. As such, these courses are based on decades of experience and have been targeted to different stakeholders involved in health service delivery. Discipline-specific courses focus on the telehealth knowledge and skills that are needed for a specific clinical discipline, as well as some of the more general telehealth knowledge that underpin effective telehealth use. The current selection of courses is suggested but we can package and develop new lessons to suit your individual service needs.
We understand how busy people are and so our courses are very flexible. Each course consists of multiple lessons, and each lesson is broken down into 10 – 15 minute blocks and include optional extra material to enhance your learning. All materials have a time estimate so you can see in advance how long each task will take.
Based on decades of evidence-based health service expertise our courses have been targeted to different stakeholders involved in health service delivery. Recognising the crucial role of managerial and administrative staff in healthcare service provision, including telehealth services, we have developed the lessons to ensure relevance to a range of stakeholders, not just clinicians.
